Treating Headache in Enschede

Headache coming from the neck is often very treatable.

Not all headaches come from the head. A common form, tension headache, starts in the neck: tense muscles and restricted joints cause a pressing pain that spreads to the back of the head, the temples or behind the eyes.

If the neck is the source, continuing to take painkillers alone makes little sense. It is more useful to treat the neck itself.

Common symptoms

  • Pressing pain from the neck into the back of the head
  • Pain around the temples or behind the eyes
  • A stiff, tense neck and shoulders
  • Headache that worsens with long sitting or stress

How we help you with headache

We examine whether your headache comes from the neck. If it does, we treat the neck joints and the muscle tension, which often reduces or resolves the headache.

With posture advice and exercises we help prevent the tension from building up again.

Frequently asked questions

Can a chiropractor help with headache?

That depends on the cause, which is why we always start with a thorough examination. If your complaint turns out to be suitable for chiropractic care, we draw up a treatment plan that fits you. Many people experience relief, although results differ from person to person.

Do I need a referral from my GP?

No. You can book an appointment directly, without a referral from your GP.

Is the treatment reimbursed?

Chiropractic care is not part of the Dutch basic health insurance, but many insurers cover it under supplementary insurance. No deductible (eigen risico) applies. The pricing page explains how to submit your invoice.

How many treatments will I need?

That differs per person and per complaint. After the first examination we give you a realistic estimate and a plan, so you know where you stand.
